Performance and production continuity.
The food & beverage industry combines constraints that are often contradictory: stringent sanitary and hygiene requirements, high production rates, full lot and ingredient traceability, frequent product changeovers — all in environments that are challenging for electronic equipment (humidity, high-pressure water jets, extreme temperatures, corrosive products). In this context, automation is a key driver of both performance and regulatory compliance.
AUTOM Technologies approaches this sector with a production-focused mindset: our solutions are designed to maximise equipment availability, simplify cleaning and format changeover operations, and provide production teams with reliable, actionable real-time data.
How we operate
Automation of production and processing lines
We automate food & beverage equipment and production lines: packaging lines, dosing and blending systems, cooking and pasteurisation equipment, conveyors and sorters, packaging and labelling machines. Our control systems integrate CIP (Clean-in-Place) cleaning sequences, production recipes and format changeover management. The HMI is designed to be intuitive and easy to operate by production staff.
Retrofit and modernisation of existing installations
Many food & beverage installations operate with obsolete PLCs, ageing HMIs and unsecured networks. We carry out reverse engineering of existing systems, migration to current platforms and documentary updates, without extended production interruption. Our progressive switchover methodology keeps production running throughout the migration phases.
Supervision, traceability and process data historisation
Lot traceability and production data collection are regulatory requirements (IFS, BRC, FDA) and levers for continuous improvement. We deploy SCADA and MES systems that enable real-time monitoring of critical process parameters (temperatures, times, pH, pressures), automatic recording of traceability data and generation of production reports and batch files. Integration with client ERP systems (SAP, SAGE, Odoo) is achieved via standardised interfaces.
Standards and requirements
- IFS Food / BRC — Food safety management standards requiring process data traceability
- HACCP — Hazard analysis and critical control points: automated systems must guarantee CCP control
- FDA 21 CFR Part 11 — Requirements for electronic records and electronic signatures
- EHEDG / 3-A — Hygiene standards for equipment in contact with food
- IP69K — Minimum protection rating for equipment subject to high-pressure cleaning
Representative project
Durum wheat storage and processing facility
Reverse engineering and complete modernisation of the control system at a durum wheat storage and processing complex: automation of elevators, conveyors, screens and cleaners, centralised process supervision, milling recipe management and lot traceability. Migration from an obsolete system to Siemens S7-1500 PLCs and WinCC Unified SCADA, with maintained production throughout the works.
